STEPHENSON, Mich.—How does your garden grow? What does your garden grow? Do you even have a garden?

No matter. The “Library in Bloom” event on Saturday, June 4 in Stephenson has something for everyone. The street in front of the Menominee County Library at S319 Railroad St. will be blocked off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition of a wide variety of flower, herb and vegetable plants available for sale, 17 different vendors will be selling their handcrafted items.

There will be sewn items such as purses, totes, pouches and aprons, 3D wood art, apparel and home décor items; homemade greeting cards, several kinds of soap, chapstick and lotions; homemade jewelry including bracelets from silverware and other items from vintage silverware; Angora wool yarn and knit items; bird feeders and bird houses, painted décor, painted wood crafts and cedar crafts; tractor sewing machines, walking sticks and painted saw blades; and maple syrup, fresh eggs and lettuce.

Even if you are not in the market to shop, there will be kids’ activities, face painting and a demonstration by the Carney BetaWolves Robotics Team. Many area businesses and individuals have donated items for bucket raffles. In the background, attendees will be treated to live music performed by Kimberly Fournier and Alexander Hamilton of “Abilone.”

If you have extra plants or bulbs to donate to the sale, please drop them off at the library by Thursday, June 2 or call the library at (906)-753-6923.

All proceeds from the plant sale and bucket raffles go to fund library projects conducted by the Friends of the Menominee County Library. Patrons are encouraged to check out the local businesses and restaurants in the Stephenson and Daggett areas, many of whom are featuring “Library in Bloom” specials.

For more information, please call the library or check out their Facebook page or web site.
